In this role, you will drive the design, procurement, installation, and launch of large-scale metal stamping presses and auxiliary systems that enable safe, efficient, and world-class production.<br><br>This position blends deep technical expertise with project leadership. You’ll partner cross-functionally to deliver equipment solutions that maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), support Lean manufacturing strategies, and meet all Environmental, Health &amp; Safety (EHS) requirements. If you thrive in complex manufacturing environments and enjoy bringing large capital projects from concept to production, this role offers the opportunity to make a measurable impact at scale.<h2></h2><h2><span class="emphasis-3">Position</span></h2>Senior Manufacturing Capital Project Leader - Metals<h2></h2><h2><span class="emphasis-3">Location</span></h2>USA, Louisville, KY<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2><span class="emphasis-3">How You&#39;ll Create Possibilities</span></h2><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li><p>Lead the <b>design, procurement, installation, and commissioning</b> of large metal stamping presses and auxiliary equipment.</p></li><li><p>Own project execution by managing schedules, milestones, risks, and overall progress.</p></li><li><p>Engineer equipment solutions that optimize <b>OEE</b>, reliability, and long-term performance.</p></li><li><p>Apply <b>Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)</b> principles throughout equipment and process development.</p></li><li><p>Ensure full compliance with <b>industry and governmental EHS standards</b>.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with functional leaders to support <b>Lean Manufacturing, ergonomic design, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)</b> initiatives.</p></li><li><p>Partner with cross-functional teams to develop <b>Manufacturing Control Plans (MCP)</b>, <b>Manufacturing Control Instructions (MCI)</b>, and support <b>Design for Manufacturing &amp; Assembly (DFMA)</b>.</p></li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2><span class="emphasis-3">What You&#39;ll Bring to Our Team</span></h2><p><b><span>Minimum Requirements:</span></b></p><ul><li>Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related discipline OR equivalent hands-on experience in technical/manufacturing disciplines, Journeymen OR graduate of a certified tool &amp; die apprenticeship program</li><li>7&#43; years total experience with tooling procurement as well as tool and die design concepts, die components and applications.  Experience should include:<ul><li>At least 3 years managing large metal stamping related capital equipment projects for <u>mechanical/servo transfer presses</u> / progressive die presses.</li><li>At least 5 years’ experience with progressively more complex Metal Stamping projects.</li></ul></li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>Preferred:</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering</li><li>Developed specifications, selected suppliers, conducted technical reviews, and managed installation and qualification of equipment.</li><li>Procured press auxiliary equipment such as transfer systems, coil feeders, leveler systems, and de-stacker systems.</li><li>Extensive experience in high-volume metal stamping environments for large Tier 1 suppliers or OEMs.</li><li>Proficient in simulation software (Auto Form or equivalent) and understanding relevant input parameters.</li><li>Demonstrated experience implementing Lean process improvements in manufacturing operations.</li><li>Previous involvement in New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.</li><li>Skilled in MS Office, MS Scheduler (or equivalent), and AutoCAD.</li><li>Familiar with 3D CAD software (ProE, SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent).</li><li>Knowledgeable in Quick Die Changeover (QDC) methods and practices.</li><li>Experience with proximity and fiber-optic die protection sensors.</li><li>Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Working Conditions:</b></p><ul><li>Working within both an office and manufacturing environment.</li><li>Projects may require temporary working, off-shift, shutdowns or weekends.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Travel:</b></p><ul><li>15-20% travel may be required during peak project times for domestic and/or international travel to supplier sites/ plants, etc.</li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2><span class="emphasis-3"><b>Our Culture</b></span></h2><p style="text-align:left"><span>Our work is centered on our People and Culture as reflected in our Zero Distance philosophy and we recognize the importance of reaffirming our commitment to inclusion and diversity (I&amp;D).
